Anyone who owns some sort of vehicle understands the importance of keeping track of it. It’s a big investment, after all, and it should be protected. You’ve put in enough work and sacrificed quite a bit for it, so why not get a powerful tracking device like the ProTrack GPS?
This real-time tracking device, the ProTrak GPS, is made specifically for tracking vehicles. It uses GPS satellite technology to do so. It then uses cellular technology as a way to send the information to you.
What is the ProTrak’s Mechanism of Action?
As previously mentioned, the ProTrack use GPS satellites to track vehicles in real time. These GPS satellites broadcast continuously from a 20,000 mile orbit, and the ProTrak gets these signals and uses them to determine a vehicle’s location. The information that is broadcasted, that is, the Unit ID, longitude, latitude, and other data, is transmitted via a CDMA modem that uses cellular technology. It can be sent to either a PC or control station where it can be displayed on a map.
Basically, the ProTrak GPS is made up of a GPS receiver along with a cellular modem that is normally attached to the vehicle being tracked. The system also contains a “puck” antenna that is attached magnetically to the bottom of the bumper cover.
According to the manufacturers, power is supplied to the ProTrak by connecting it directly to the power of the vehicle, or alternately, with a rechargeable battery pack. These battery packs can power it for about five days. There also exists a power-saving mode that will put the system to “sleep” and only turn it on when it gets a call from the control center. If need be, it can also be programmed to remain on at all times. This will let you track your vehicle continuously.
ProTrak GPS Features
The ProTrak GPS has the following features:
* Live GPS vehicle tracking using a cellular network.
* Both automatic and manual activation, as well as dial-out to wherever you want.
* A mode for dial-in used to track and control vehicles.
* A single-vendor software and hardware system that is fully integrated.
* GPS maps that are easy to read and that display automatically.
* No infrastructure is required. A PC and base station modem is all that’s needed.
Besides all these wonderful attributes, the ProTrak GPS comes with a host modem, cables, and antennas. It also includes a CD-ROM program with U.S. maps. This final feature, however, hasn’t been made available yet to most countries. At the moment, this feature can only be used in Canada. .
It’s not surprising then that the Protrak can let you locate your vehicle with such precision at any point on the map, with such amazing features. With this real-time tracking device, you can keep track of your vehicle from the comfort of home. Don’t worry ever again about your kids, spouse, or employees.
